La storia del gruppo
Nato David Robert Jones a Brixton, Londra, nel 1947, ottenne il primo successo nel 1969 con "Space Oddity". Con l'album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" (1972) creò il suo alter ego più famoso, Ziggy Stardust, ritirato l'anno successivo; la sua carriera fu segnata da continue reinvenzioni di immagine e sonorità. Morì a New York nel gennaio 2016, due giorni dopo il suo 69esimo compleanno e l'uscita dell'ultimo album, "Blackstar".
